Ve Vo Boutique recently opened on Prospect Road. It is a gorgeous shop and gallery space full of South Australian designer products.

In the front room of the store, local designer Yvonne Baulderstone features her latest collections from her Yvonne Faye label, already recognised as one of South Australia’s most original and exciting design talents.

Yvonne Faye is classy and eclectic clothing for those wanting to stand out in the crowd. Using predominantly prints and a vast array of colours, the clothing is above all feminine, with classic lines paired with interesting details creating the structure of the garments.
Yvonne Faye is a unique label characterised by its combination of brightness, individuality, style and classic elegance.
In the accompanying gallery space, a range of South Australian artists are featured. These include landscape and abstract artist Karen Silis (with her superb Coorong series), potter Jill Foster, wood sculptor Geoff Bromilow, jewellery by Jewel Bug, silk scarves by Gwen Foster and a wide range of handmade soaps by Ambiescent Soaps.

Renew Adelaide in Partnership with Steve Maras, Managing Director of Maras Group have come together to transform an iconic vacant shop front at 98 Prospect Road, Prospect into two buzzing creative businesses with a twist. “We had the Princess Collection Bridal House in this space  for the last three years with the space only recently becoming available,” says Maras. While searching for a more permanent operator this was a great opportunity for Steve Maras to work with Renew Adelaide to quickly activate the space, giving Littlest Vintage and Studio Lingo a chance to showcase themselves.

The Renew Adelaide model of licensing access to empty spaces through short term, rolling agreements follows on from the successful Renew Newcastle intiative. The aim is to improve Adelaide’s status as a cultural hub, engage with communities, support urban renewal and enhance creative industries. Renew Adelaide is supported by The Australian Centre for Social Innovartion, Adelaide City Council, Maras Group, Kambitsis Group, Adelaide West End Assocation and Format Collective along with a large amount of invaluable community support. This is the first time they have ventured outside of the CBD.

The business is owned and run by Monika, Rosemarie and Gunter Hanauer and we are all experienced stitchers. We are able to give advice and help to our customers, whether they are starting a new project or have a problem with a piece they are in the process of stitching.  Rosemarie belongs to the Embroiderers Guild of South Australia and Gunter has won prizes at the Royal Show for his stitching.  Monika is both an experienced embroiderer and a qualified dressmaker who can assist you with finishing your embroidery project.  We all design our own projects which we self publish under the label of Primke Designs and an many get published in the Embroidery and Cross Stitch magazine.

There is also a range of over dyed threads, which we hand dye under the Primke Designs label. We also dye Stranded cotton,  including Perle 5, 8 and 12.  The paler shades of perle cotton are popular with people who create Hardanger embroidery. While the other shades are used for various surface embroidery techniques, modern canvas work and cross stitch. Quilters also find it a very good thread to use for embellishing their quilts.
